them in time. We have taken what steps are possible to prevent the high sum notes which the banks were forced to sign being accepted. One report mentions a total of $72 million "forced" notes and $47 million of "unissued" notes."

Of the $46 million estimated to have

been encashed, $27.3 million have been dealt with and we are about to deal with another $8.8 million. This leaves a balance of about $10 million to come.
